  Our thanks
The people we want to thank, many of whom are an integral part of the Voices story...

There are of course times when words fail us when it comes to describing music. In fact, if the experience is difficult or impossible to capture in words, we know we've put on a good party. As they say, 'it's a feeling'.

What we are setting out to do here, in this section of our website, is to pay tribute to the people that matter in our cosmos of music - in interviews, extended reviews and reports from events and excursions, and in our thanks to the people who motivate and inspire us and with whom we celebrate at Voices events. We will endeavour to shed light on those who came before us in representing underground dance music - producers, promoters, DJs, dancers, sound engineers and so on - and feature retrospectives on parties that helped shape musical directions we have followed and developed further…

While in New York, Alex interviewed Carlos and Phil from NYC's Whatever We Want label and No Ordinary Monkey parties, following his and Joel Martin's (Quiet Village) guest appearance at the same event. Cedric tells us about his participation in The Red Bull Academy in late 2005 held in Seattle and reports back from the Red Bull stage at Sonar, summer 2006. You can read interviews with Voices friends and guests Victor Rosado (Paradise Garage), Mark Seven (Black Lodge, Sweden) and UK producer and DJ Frankie Valentine.

More recently in November 2006 Alex returned to NYC to DJ with Citizen Kane at his long running 'The Deep End' night at APT, while there an interview was started and you can know read an interview with Kane.

May 2007 and our first guest Los Angeles DJ/Producer 'Woolfy' a.k.a Simon James has also now been added to this section. Make sure to catch him live with us at Plastic People on Sunday May 20th and check out an exclusive mix 'Keep On Repeat' in our mixes section.
